who is the festival sponsor?
Since its inception, the Philadelphia Folk Festival has been the primary fund raising event for the Philadelphia Folksong Society. Founded as a 501(c) 3 non-profit, educational organization in 1957, PFS provides programs of presentation, education, and participation. Some of these include:
Season programming: presents historical musical expression as well as innovative folk artists in premier venues throughout PA
Odyssey of American Music: bring arts in education programs to area schools where budgets have been cut or decreased
Grants in Aid: Funds various programs, including seed grants for other Festivals and organizations
Community Service: sends musicians to senior centers, hospices, mental health centers, and other organizations.
We greatly appreciate the generous support of the sponsors of the Philadelphia Folk Festival David Dye, Helen Leicht and Kathy O'Connell appear courtesy of WXPN.
